The images on our fused glass jewelry have been chosen for their symbolic expression of a variety of energies, such as strength, happiness and protection. The fun of our work is to bring the symbolic into the everyday.The pendants are created by etching an image on dichroic glass (a glass with a shiny, reflective surface) which is then fused to the pendant. Sheet glass is selected by color for the desired effect and cut to shape. The edges of these shapes are ground and the pieces are cleaned. These layered glass pieces are then placed on a shelf and loaded into an electric kiln. The kiln is heated to approximately 1500 degrees.
Once the glass pieces are adequately fused together, the kiln is carefully cooled, the temperature of the glass and the kiln shelf is equalized, and then the kiln is slow cooled to room temperature. After the pendants are cool, the pieces are again cleaned, then strung and labeled with a description of the image and its energetic attributes.
